Match The Sport To The Venue

 Hi readers.

Our first week of term 3 we have been learning about the Olympics. Today I did a match the spot to the venue google drawing. It was super easy so I got it done pretty quick. You had to put the right photos in the right category to match. There was in water, on a track or field and in a gym. I would really like it if you guys could maybe tell me what I could do to improve and what I did good. Here is the photo of my google drawing.

My Student Summit Trip

 Hi readers.

Today was so much fun. 16 kids have gone to hornby primary from south hornby. I was one of them that got picked to go. We went to the Uru Mānuka Student Summit at hornby primary school. I did book creator for my first class. Here is a photo.

This is a photo of Sophie and me doing book creator for our first class. We both decided to do a all about me for our book. It was really fun at book creator. I did some writing as well as making a book. The next thing I did was Coggle. You had to put a category down then you had to put some things of that category down then what would be that kind of things. Here is me working hard or hardly working.
It was really confusing but really fun at the same time. After that we all had morning tea and at the table I was sitting at there was only south hornby kids and it was really funny. I went to how to make a quiz on google forms. It was really fun. I went Mia and it was so much fun it was my favorite activity.
That is the last one i have a photo of me doing. But I also did scratch jr after. I can't thank you enough Mrs Jones for taking me and the other kids who went. I had a great time and would love to do it again. I didn't really like scratch jr as much as the other ones but it was still enjoyable.

Bulford Kiwi

 Hi readers.

Today I'm going to show you and tell you things about the Bulford Kiwi. First things first I will tell you how I know about the Bulford Kiwi. In reading we read a text and at the end of the story they told us how when the other soldiers were waiting to go home, because they couldn't take everyone at the same time. So while they were waiting they made a Kiwi in the hill in England with sticks to carve the shape then filled it with chalk powder. They made this kiwi because the war ended and they got there to late and had to wait for more boats to come and take them home. They were gutted that they didn't fight. Now here is a photo. I hope this helps with anything. BYE!

tasting taste

 Hi readers.

Today in reading in the Tom Fletcher we did a weird experiment in the wet space. We had to taste all these different type of foods and drinks. I thought they were all not great but we got to eat chips and ham for the experiment they were the only good ones. We had to taste, chips, ham, lemon, sweet honey, cold coffee it was disgusting. I thought I would not like any but I liked the ham and chips but the lemon wasn't that bad. There are some photos of us trying the food. And we also had to write down if we thought each of the foods were bitter, salty, unmami, sweet and sour. Look at these photos to see what we did.

The creation of the south island

 Hi readers.

In writing this past few weeks we have been reading and retelling the stories of the moari legends. I have already posted my other one yesterday so if you want can you please go and look at that one after you have finished reading this one please. If you can please comment what I need to work on or something I have done well.

The creation of the south island.

Once upon a time there was a sky father named Rangi. Rangi was married to Pokohara-te-Po and they have 4 boys. Aoraki is the oldest son, he has 3 brothers named Rakiroa, Rakirua, Rarakiroa. Pokhara-te-Po was heartbroken when she find out that Rangi loved another women(Papatuanuku-earth mother)

Aoraki and his brothers decided to see why their father wanted to know why their father liked Papatuanuku more than their mother Pokohara-te-Po. They took their waka that came from the sky and sailed across the sea to find Papatuanuku. When they find her they did not like her at all but they decide to find more land.

There was a storm Aoraki and the brothers thought their father Rangi sent the storm because he was the sky father so he could do that. Aoraki had to say a karakia to make the waka raise so that they wear safe. But Aoraki said the karakia wrong and the waka sank.

The waka fliped over and didn't go on falt it was on a angle. The brothers climbed onto the side of the waka and huddled together. They wear so cold their hair was going white and the brothers and the waka turned to stone. The brothers are now the seven alpes and the waka is the south island. Aoraki is mount cook in the southern alps.

Pouākai the Glutton

 Hi readers.

Lately we have been writing about legends in Mrs Jones writing class. Here is my writing I hope you like it. If you think there is something I could add or do better in my writing please comment. I would love to hear you ideas.

                          Pouākai the Glutton.

Once upon a time there was a great big bird named Pouākai. Unlike other birds Pouākai liked the flesh of men. Pouākai lived on top of Mt torlesse where Pouākai could see from miles. The men lived in Pā in the plains. When the men went hunting they never came back alive because of Pouākai.

The hunters came back one day and all of the hunters said that the can’t keep letting Pouākai eat the hunters. They all said that someone needs to get rid of the bird. The bravest hunter Ruru said that he would take 40 men and get rid of this bird. 40 men spet up and said they will go with Ruru to take Pouākai away for good.

They men and Ruru worked on a big cage that could fit them all in. Once the sun ruised the 40 men went into the cage and Ruru the fastest and the bravest hunter went to wait until Pouākai woke up. Then Pouākai woke up and saw Ruru and dived down and chased Ruru. Ruru was running as fast as he could. Ruru got into the cage as Pouākai landed on the top of the cage.

As Pouākai reached in he killed some of the men and his leg got chopped off then his other leg. Soon Pouākai had no legs and he also had no wings because they chopped off Pouākais wings. Soon Pouākai was dead than Ruru took him down off a cliff. Ruru and the men went to see if there was any babies. Ruru saw the babies and killed them so that they couldn't become Pouākai. Then everyone in the village was so happy they could now hunt.

All about Eels

When we went to the miri last week we learned about Eels from lake Ellesmere. This guy named Clem Smith told us all about Eels, He said that the dad and mum Eel swim all the way to the warm water in Hawaii, the dad raps around the mum and  her tight and then the eggs come out, they give birth to about 100s of them, after the eggs come out the mum and dad die. The baby Eels are called Larva, then their called glass Eels, then their called Elver, next is Adult and the last one is the spawning Eels. The baby's swim back to lake Ellesmere, they can smell were their parents have been and thats how they get back to lake Ellesmere.

They do the same thing over and over and over again. Clem let us touch the Eels and they were really slimy and gross. Here are some photos of some of the kids seeing what the Eels feel like. Thank you for reading my blog post
